OOTD#2

Need some blue when the sky is so dull...
Here is what I wore for the degree show as I thought I would look smart but not too dressy. As I had to greet people and explain our collection to them, so I thought smart casual will make them feel more welcomed and a bit more friendlier to approach.

Degree Show 2012~

Today I was working at uni for our year's degree show. This event happens every year within the Art & Design department, where all areas of designing showcases their work and mainly for final year students. Here are some of the VM displays created by a few of my friends on the fashion course and they are AMAZING! Hope you guys enjoy it!

By Amber Davies, Visual Merchandiser, Accessories.
Her inspirations came from our trip to Paris, as she photographed locations from there and made this display into a book. Also she has produced various size pendants of famous architectures as necklaces.

By Puv Bening, Visual Merchandiser.
Puv's theme was viruses and diseases.

I am FINALLY back!

I apologies for my absent on writing on my blog! This year has been so hectic for me as it is my final year doing my Fashion and Design course. Started off with the year producing a small collection of three garments, with the theme of 'Postmodernism.' I was so confused with what the theme was and did struggle a lot to get in depth with the research. But we manage to do some activities, so we can all physically experience i some sort of Postmodern atmosphere. This theme is actually quite broad, it can be about anything to be honest, but with what I found out is that Postmodern is about being different and breaking the rules! I carried on the theme looking into Postmodern architectures and also came across some very interesting textiles techniques. So by combining designing with textured textiles this it was I produced, hope you'll all enjoy it :)~

I then looked into Avant Garde editorials, as the images are very abstract and always have a twist to it. Here is where I got my inspiration to look into texture of materials.

Craig Mcdean
Madame Peripetie
This textile designer, Eleanor Amoroso inspired me this most within this project. The knotting technique she uses in her work was so unique and really made it as a statement piece.

Hmmm Orange~

Be bright and stand out!
Blazer- H&M
Orange knitted top- H&M
Heels- Newlook

Finally got my Mac fixed! Been wanting to update my blog for weeks!
So I am back home for the week, finally a little break from sewing all day!
I miss being home so much as I haven't seen my family since Christmas, so I am cherishing every moment back here.

Another thing I missed was the shopping centre back home! Just so much more shops to look around then where my uni is. So I have been looking into some sales in Topshop of course! And saw this bangle with rings and I just fell in love with it. Thought I can style it with very simply and minimal tops and casual jeans or trousers and have the bangle as the main feature.

Then I also got this necklace, just a meaning of my name and also just needed a necklace to remind me something about my past, making me more confident and stronger.
